Tarvisio is in a large and sunny valley, in the heart of the Italian julian Alps at 800 mt. Tarvisio is a mountain "city" of 5000 people, few miles from the Austrian and Slovenian borders.
In the winter the resort offers 30km of ski runs, among them the queen of the Friuli slopes, the Lussari, used for ski world cup competitions, usable in evening times thanks to the artificial lights mounted for half of the Lussari length. There is a snow park, many miles of country ski slopes, slopes for tobogganing, ice rings...
The town has a lot of bars, restaurants and clubs to keep the fun going on after the ski day is over.
In the summer, Tarvisio offer includes attractions and activities: the Lussari sanctuary, the nearby Fusine, Predil, Velden and Bled lakes, forests and yet again the possibility to do trekking, rock climbing, canyoning, shopping, and to assist to international events like the no borders festival (REM, Moby, Sinéad O'Connor, Jovanotti, Manu Chao, Macy Gray…)
Skiing
In Tarvisio the ski runs develop between 800 and 1800 mt. If you think this is not enough, you ought to know that Tarvisio and Sella Nevea are in one the coldest and snowiest areas of the Alps (check out the section “snow guarantee ” for a better understanding)
